MakingThePattern...
“My initial intention to create a metropolitan defence pattern, a camouflage that positively positioned the wearer in the culture heavy landscape. The fabric should function as a protective layer while simultaneously emitting its silent graphic signal & feeding right back into the current social climate.
The artwork originates in the studio as spraypaint on canvas, highly stylised typography outlines & rapid expressive marks, basically my trademark graffiti style. Fom then it goes digital, theory protocols are put into place, dimensions for the repeat of the fabric & multiple manipulation of the painted images, a lot of adding & taking away until the piece is realised. I knew right away it had to be black on black.
The result is pure artistic collaboration. Neither side is compromised, for the artist it allows mass transit of my artwork, hundreds of walking canvases, & for Addict it confirms the ethos of a forward looking brand that continues to innovate through collaboration.” SheOne
